Okay folks--we are getting slaughtered in vet costs--not unfair ones and I'm not blaming the vets at all--but we are very tight with ye olde coins these days. I simply cannot take in another dog until we get the current crew vetted and our balance on a better level
So we need to do some fund raising that isn't considered gambling, or a lottery or a game of chance (not legal without a license--whole other story that makes me want to rip out my hair)
And it has to be something that isn't going to require extra work from most of the board of directors or other volunteers already up to their ears in rescue work.
Lori had mentioned a donation challenge or some such.

I did indeed and I also am thinking of doing a Birthday Bash for Bubs 17th same idea as Pugsley's, in lieu of a birthday gift perhaps a donation to Pugalug for the Fosters. Bubs says his Momma gives him everything he will ever want and he would like to help out the fosters!! The Challenge could begin April or May?? If Mark can set up some sort of "thermometer" with $ divisions to show our standings on the Challenge, that would be a super reminder, especially if it si posted on the front page as Pugalug Challenge Month for everyone who is visiting to see?? Not just for Forum Members but everyone who visits the site. Also, an email out to all that it is Challenge Month and it would truly be appreciated any dollar amount donated by PayPal with the sublect line of "Pugalug Challenge Month" so we can actually keep track of the donations on the thermometer??? We could start with say a $5000.00 amt and see if we can challenge each other? any comments on these two ideas?? I really feel bad not giving Bubs a Sweet 16 Birthday but was busy with another old fella at the time! I think any canine hitting 16 should have a sweet 16

actually, Diane, I was thinking that since the copper is worth more than he face value, It might be better to gather all the pennies and take them to a scrap metal dealer sad but true ;( Also, for the challenge month does anyone "tweet" or can we get the word out on all the social medias??? Facebook, linkedin, myspace etc. The challenge month can work its Just a matter of ggetting the word out globally!!

But like I promised, my first paycheque will have a small donation for Pugalug! You'll be a great vet. Specialize in knee and eye surgery, would you? We could keep you busy and pay off your student loans!

Specialize in pugs and you'll pay off your student loans faster. Suspect we've helped our vet pay off something, just not sure what...

So I was wondering...if instead of using my credit card, if I can mail a cheque into Pugalug because guess who got their first paycheque?! I promised myself that once I get my first paycheque, I'd do some good to this world by donating to the three most near and dear charity organizations to me. It won't be a lot but I know that every little bit helps and I want to make a small celebratory donation to cover the vet costs...lol.

Absolutely and God (or Dog) bless you for doing this. You can send it to the snail mail address on the forum--but here it is anyway: Attn: Treasurer, Pugalug Pug Rescue, PO Box 1421, Toronto station K, Toronto, ON M4P 3J7
