There's something called a bottom's up leash that you could take a look at online and possibly rig something up yourself. It supports the dog's back end by looping around the top of the back legs/hips rather than under the belly so it doesn't interfer with them doing their business.
Good luck to you both!

While I don't know them personally I do remember seeing them at most Pugalugs downtown. My deepest sympathies to Rob!
6  Pugalug Canine Care Section / Training Issues / Re: Biting at the Vet on: March 13, 2013, 10:48:28 AM
You are so welcome, I really hope it helps. My fur-niece, an Amercian Bulldog, has major issues going to the vet and she's also accident prone so I know how hard it can be on her people.

Thanks for the link. I've added it to my favourites. I love reading about all the pug antics  Grin

Sorry it took me a couple of days to find this but I think it might really help. This is a blog post from "Notes from a Dog Walker" on the subject

Check out George and the other dogs with waists on this blog. I managed to plug Pugalug and plant the suggestion that pugs don't have to be porky.

The first link is to the initial blog entry. The second link features George.

Sending tons and tons of good thoughts to Sully, you and your poor husband.  I too believe that everything happens for a reason. Is your husband okay? I bet he's suffering almost as much as Sully but he probably isn't letting on.

Not sure, Deb.  He got a boatload of applications so not sure where we will be in that process.
YAY for Rupert! I hope he knows how popular he is. He's not the type to let it go to his head  Cheesy

I am not very good at describing things to my vet because I don't know what terms to use. It was particularly frustrating when my Mackie had an episode that I could best describe as a stroke or a seizure. When he had a second one I videotaped it on my cell phone so my vet could see for himself and he knew exactly what it was.
