After having a talk today with my very dear friend Maureen she asked me to post for her. You may know Maureen on the form as "Pugmetender" or very ones little darling pug Lola's mom, she is also the raffle coordinator with me. I'm sad to say that Maureen is battling cancer and she needs some prayers and thoughts sent her way. She no longer comes on the form so if anyone would like to send her a card please PM me, this would mean so much to her.
Thank you Jean

Just a thought... but approximately a year ago now, a dear friend of mine was battling stage 3 lung cancer. The odds in her favour were not great, in fact quite poor. I posted on a few forums that I frequent, requesting prayer, healing energy, good wishes, whatever the beliefs of the forum members were, to support this wonderful woman in her time of great need. A year later with treatment her lung CTs are cancer free. Very amazing!
Jeanne, you would know best, but I'm wondering if Maureen would take comfort from those of us who wish, in putting out a call for that same expression of caring and hope. Among the forum members here I'm sure we could reach literally millions if that was something Maureen would want.
Sending the warmest of healing of energy to Maureen, the most gentle of souls.

Cancer is limited ...
It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot eat away peace, It cannot destroy confidence, It cannot shut out memories It cannot silence courage, It cannot invade the soul, It cannot reduce eternal life, It cannot quench the spirit, It cannot lessen the power of the Resurrection.

Thanks for that, Melissa. Just lovely. Jean--let me know if there is anything that I/we can do. There's a huge volunteer pool here. If we can mobilize to help a pug then we can sure mobilize to support Maureen in whatever way we can. Cooking, cleaning, transport, Lola sitting--whatever is needed we can probably do. And we have Pugsley and Dave's mom on here who is a physician and would be more than happy to talk to Maureen and her family at any time. She might be a useful resource to use if needed. The sky's the limit in terms of what we could probably help out with. Just let us know.

I remember attending my first Pugalug event. Maureen came over to greet me, and she made me feel very welcome. I will do whatever is needed to help her feel more comfortable and take some of the daily burden off her shoulders, Jean. Just let me know. Also, can you facebook me her address?
God speed, and god bless a dear woman who's heart is as big as the sky. Positive thoughts and prayers go out to Maureen.
