Candace; how is Mookie doing now? I have been thinking about him and hope all is well.
Thanks for your thoughts. Mookie is doing very well. He is so much better, with the eye opened. He really couldn't get around, when it was closed. So much different, than when Salvador had a graft. Now, he can run and jump up and down from the furniture. The graft is healing, nicely. He still has some sutures, that should dissolve. Our last eye check, was last Friday and we don't have to go until next week. If all is well, we might not have to go back for a month. I am hoping that we get the cone off next week and don't have to wait another month! It's a little awkward, when he wants under the covers and I get a cone to the face! The good news is that he seems to have great vision, in that eye!

That is great to hear. I am glad he is doing so well. He certainly has been a trooper keeping that cone on for such a long time. I too hope he gets the cone off next week.
thanks for the update.

Well, we can close this thread, as Mookie is cone free! It will be so nice to have proper cuddles. Mookie gives the best cuddles. Mocha will be happy to be able to cuddle with Mookie and not get whacked with the cone. Thanks everyone, for your support.

It's so nice, to have things back to normal. It takes some getting used to. Mookie didn't realize that he could climb the stairs, without me holding the cone. He just stood there, waiting for help. I gave him a little nudge and he got it. Layla didn't recognize him for a minute. She came flying down the hall, after a toy, and saw Mookie. She screeched to a halt, puffed up her fur, hissed and high tailed it upstairs! When I showed her that it was just Mookie, she calmed down. It seemed so much easier, when Sal was in cones. My memory faded or Mookie is just a big sucky baby!
