http://www.pugalug.com/bogie.html

Bogie is a sweet old man who has some complicated medical problems. The first week in his new foster home was difficult for him but he has now fit in very well. He has adjusted to his new routine and is happy and friendly. Bogie loves running around the yard and going for car rides. He has started a healthy diet and looks forward to his meals and snacks. Bogie gets along well with his foster sister, Bailey the Beagle, and the cats. Bogie is going to stay in the Pug Abode until his medical issues can be sorted out. He is seeing the vet regularly and we are waiting for test results so we can make a treatment plan for this little guy. Bogie needs lots of well wishes and good thoughts.

Bogie is and has been quite ill.  We are still trying to figure out if he has an extreme thyroid issue or Cushing's or both and there maybe some canine dementia going on, but again, all his dementia symptoms could be a result of the thyroid/Cushings.  We were told he had a borderline Cushing's level last January, but his current bloodwork is not adding up to that.

So, he is in our absolute best home for seniors and getting top notch care.

Bogie was rushed to the ER this evening and just couldn't be saved.  His foster moms Sandy, Debbie and Marie have struggled with his multiple health issues and it looked like he might be improving, but it didn't last.

Bogie was 10.5 when he came in and had numerous complex health issues--thyroid, Cushing's and dementia.  We knew he probably wouldn't be with us for long, but the end was quicker than any of us expected.

His foster home specializes in the elderly and the medically fragile and Bogie couldn't have had better care.

It's a hard week when you lose two dogs in three days.

Sail on, Bogie.

Hope Bogie is at the Bridge free of discomfort and having a wonderful time with all of the dear Pugs gone before. Thank you to Debbie, Sandie and Maria for your special love and kindness to senior Pugs, especially when they need it most. Bogie was where he deserved to be in his final weeks.

Read this and was saddened, realizing it was for a multitude of reasons, but it's still sad. Wish him all the best on the other side.
