Woofstock was great this year. Not many vendors selling raw. But, one in particular from BC that caught my attention.

They were selling Llama with a veggie mix, most of which were low glycemic. Sami needs low glycemic to keep her yeast infections away.

The brand is K9Choice from BC. Mark (owner) said I can order it at a Global pet foods in my area. Right now they have distributors in BC and Alberta only. It's relatively cheap compared to what I have been paying for commerical raw and the protien source is new to Sami, so I wanted to give it a go. What I like about the food is that instead of patties, it was cut in to serving chunks. For sami's weight, she would get 2 chunks each meal along with her vegetable probiotic (she can't tolerate lactose probiotics) and her seagreens power. The hole bag was $15 and there is about 50 chunks. I was getting 12 days out of the patties of the other raw, and it was costing me $35 every 12 days....So, quite the savings. Just hope she tolerates it well.

Good luck, Amanda.  That really is a great deal.

Thank you, I hope to one day make my own for her...I am getting there, but it's a long process for her. The right mix of veggies and meat etc... I was thinking about starting her on Atopica again, but like always, I do my research and go down every avenue possible before going to meds again.

truth be told...... research is the best weapons Smiley

one day you will hit on the right combo and voila...
you will be on your way!

It's always a hit and miss until the right mix of food is found.

I just recently realized, that Bubs can eat cooked beef, but now raw beef!
I never gave him (or honey and Shy) any beef, raw or cooked because of the
instant "hurling" that happened on several occasions with raw beef!
I felt so bad for them Sad
But the other day, when Pugs put his nose up on his cooked grd beef,
I gave it to Bubs and he actually kept it down......

Great! I have been trying food for 5 years. I am just starting to realize what works and what doesn't. The Llama I am glad for new protein, but it isn't from NA so I am skeptical. But we do not have Llama's here in Canada, so I have to trust it for now.

Llama, I would think, is a very lean meat and may just be the ticket
for Sammers! Plus, it is probable that what the Llama eat, is very different
vegetation than other animals and fowl.  Huh? not sure on that, but what
they eat, also can dictate reactions as well.

It really is a lot of research and experimenting unfortunately!
I've never stopped learning or researching either. I mean, who would
a thunk melatonin would be so good. Smiley Smiley

Bubba has been with me for 8yrs and hey if he can keep cooked beef
down that's fine with me too! Smiley after all, it offers a differrent protein source.
I also use only X X lean grd beef for the pugs, less fat, even if I do drain it
and then paper towel it, so the grease is whisked away.
