Pugalug has a team of volunteer drivers, rescue angels with wheels, who help us bring pugs to their foster homes. We have had a couple of folks who have moved away from Toronto so we are short of drivers in the GTA. If you would like to be part of this wonderful team, please PM me with your email address and I will send you our application form. We need you to sign a waiver and ask that you provide 3 personal references (we need to weed out the whackos!). The need for drivers is not very often and the trips are rarely more than an hour in length (if they are, we use multiple drivers). When I put out the call for drivers for a rescue, you are free to accept the particular job or decline it. No pressure and no obligation. Just the satisfaction of knowing you are helping a pug in need if and when you can. Thanks.

I do, thanks Anna. We just haven't needed rides in your neck of the woods for a while. But we're quite short of people in Toronto where a disproportionate number of intakes come from. When the pug comes from an owner surrender, I'm now getting them to drive most of the way to the foster home (not all the way as we keep the owners' and the fosters' information confidential). However, when we do a pick-up from a shelter, we don't have that luxury.

Hilary, if you are ever stuck I am often available during the week. I don't mind going into the city.

This is a *really* rewarding thing to do! I've been a transporter for a few years now, and it's a GREAT way to help a little pug (or any other dog - I've done all breeds that will fit into my car!) on their path to a new home.

Thanks, Diane, I appreciate it. You're one of my few transporters who are available during the daytime. Rebecca, your help is also greatly appreciated and thanks again for driving our newest rescue, Sam, yesterday.
