If anyone could spare some good wishes and luck for my Goddog Roxy, her mom and I would appreciate it. Roxy is an 8 year old black Flat-coated Retriever and at her recent check-up they found a tumour on one of the toes on her front left paw. FCRs are prone to a kind of cancer there so the vet acted fast and Roxy had the whole toe removed yesterday and is now back at home and resting comfortably - blissed out on pain pills. Her Momma and I are not relaxing yet though as we're still waiting for the pathology report to find out if it was malignant and if they likely got it all. Crossed fingers for our Roxy would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone. Hopefully we will hear news from the vet tomorrow. Meanwhile Roxy is doing well and the vets gave her a new pink bandage "shoe" so hobble around in. Not as nice as the previous bandage (purple with butterflies on it) but she seems satisfied.

The results are in! And as usual the Pugalug healing network has done it's magic. The results were this: she had a keratin cyst that was essentially growing and attacking the bone in her toe. If her Momma hadn't caught it it would have started to overtake her foot and then her leg. Amputating the digit WAS the recommendation from the lab, and they say in the report that the vet got all of the cyst out so it should not be a problem going forward.
Whew! We are so relieved!
Thanks for all the good wishes everyone!
