Harvey is going in for a dental on Wednesday morning.  It's the first time he's had anesthetic since we got him, so we're a little worried.  Poor guy is going to be so upset about not having breakfast in the morning.  Any advice on what to feed him when he comes home?

I can't remember if George ate in the evening after his dental but I know he ate normally the next day as if nothing happened. He didn't have any teeth extracted though.
I'll be thinking good thoughts for all of you today. The anesthetic is always a worry.

Best thoughts for Harvey.  If he needs soft food, you can, of course, feed him canned or we have often put the kibble in a blender and then add some water and maybe yogurt or something yummy.

Well, Harvey is "on the table" now.  It looks like he's going to lose about 5 teeth.  The vet has said he's seen a lot worse.  We'll be picking him up tonight.

5 isn't bad.  You'd prefer they not lose any teeth, but just not that likely with pugs.  Tell him the Tooth Pug will visit with treats.....

Tank lost 11 at his last dental and I had one foster (not a pug) who lost 26 at her dental.....

I just saw this. Hopefully, he has recovered enough to be home and getting cuddles.

Harvey lost 6 teeth.  He came home last night around 9:30: stoned, hungry and annoyed at us.  He was not at all interested in cuddling.  At one point he was falling asleep sitting up so we had to catch him as he went over.  He had a good sleep last night and was very much his normal self this morning. He gets canned food for the next week.

Stoned hall monitor- not good.  Tell him he better fly straight from here on in or the fun-police will show up and take away his PPP badge!   Grin

Glad to hear Harvey lost minimal teesies Smiley

Going under the knife for a Pug is like humans on "Mary" Wink
the munchies set in and there is no filling the rumbly tummy up
fast enough!
At least Pugsley was always hungry as a horse, right the minute
he got out of surgery! Didn't matter how many teesies he lost, he wanted to eat
like crazy!
So Harvey, you go for it! Munch attack away!

I'm so glad that Harvey pulled through ok.  But I'll be thinking of you this week as he guilts you out.  That's what Darwin did.  He lost 2 teeth and had a small absess so there were stitches and he was on canned food and wasn't allowed any sort of chew for 2 weeks.  NOT A HAPPY PUGMAN.
