patio screen smashing!

Hey,
I had a problem once or twice and my Mom fixed it for me!
For all those PugPals out there who have reached the age of eyesight loss Wink  and have face smashed the ground whilst running through the patio screen........
Go to Rona or one of the building stores and look for printed patio screens!!!
Mom replaced our er uhm ripped screen with a pretty patterned one and I can see the shadows on it. I know when the door is shut and when it is open Smiley Cheesy

Brilliant idea.  Our patio screen bit the dust the first spring we were here when the neighbour's lab ran through it.  We finally got it fixed this summer but I can't leave only the screen door open in case Farnsworth tries to run into it.  I'll check out the patterned solution.

We used to have that problem constantly with my Malamute when I was growing up.  My mom finally got fed up, bought a roll of screening, and learned how to re-screen the door herself.  Cheesy  If only there had been patterened screens available back then!

Well so far so good! Been up a month and 8ubs does wait now for the screen ro open and when he comes rushing around a corner to, the breaks come on now!
Beats a humungous duc tape "X" on a slightly mangled screen Wink

Rona had 2 designs; one was a bamboo design and the other a spray of branches and leaves with butterflies. We took the butterflies and it matches the new house color! I will post a pic when I can Smiley

Anna, remember the big X Wink

Thanks for the tip Bubs..... I apparently have good vision but at my top speed, I have smashed a few screens in my day. (I just can't wait to get outside, if you know what I mean Cheesy)

Would love to see the photo  Tongue

your buddy, Dave

PS.  Mom wants to know if the screen is scratch resistant.....I have also been known to "scratch" my way back in if the slow pokes don't open fast enough

Sorry Dave! Screen isnt scratch resistant. Mom still watches the "offender" like a hawk!
She tends to push Moms buttons.

But I can say Mom loves the screen
Cause the mesh is tighter and doesnt let the little teeny weeny flies in.

Oh, Mom said to tell your Mom that she is going to have an acrylic sheet installed across the bottom when
we finally get a new door. She says that will help with scratching!

oh forgot to mention,
Abi is a "squirrel launcher"
She sees a squirrel and literally launches thru the screen at least she did it once before the new screen but hasnt done it since. Not sure if she is being cautious or because of  the new screen???
Who knows but she sures hates the squirrels!
Mom says that is Abi's redeeming quality. She keeps the squirrels from stealing Moms bulbs or at least they are not disappearing like the "pre Abi" era ,)

yes it is very subtle in daylight but Bubs actually sees the shapes!
I needed to replace the big X and this was on sale at the time for 9.25 and cheaper than a reg screen!

I would use it on a new screen door!
Gives some privacy too but lets you see out!

It has worked so far but only time will tell Smiley

Those are great.
Unfortunately Rocky runs through ours deliberately and uses it as a doggie door now!
Someday I'll have nice things again...LOL

It seems like quite a few of us have pugs that use the screen as a doggie door.... and mine  can see it but scratched their way out - too many slow pokes here too I guess .. now we keep a low chair wedged in the door to keep the little farts in .... oh well won't need to worry about the ripped screen until next summer now.... lol the screen is very pretty Lori!

actually the young offender was using the old screen as her private door to the world!
Since replacing it she hasnt tried anything. Sits at the door and watches the world go by and IF by chance a squirrel comes by to tease; she goes into hyper squeel and bumps me till I let her out  LOL!
