Hi Everyone

Just discovered a contest (you can tell I'm on vacation this week and have time to explore these things) at homehardware.ca You can win a 2011 Toyota Matrix for yourself and one for the charity of your choice. Not that Pugalug necessarily needs a car but it could be sold and is valued at around $24,000. The contest closes on August 13/11 with one entry per person/email.  Good luck to Pugalug and all the Pugaluggers who enter the contest !!!

If pugalug won this prize it's the law in Canada that you can also request the advertised cash value of the prize in leu of the actual prize so there would be no need to have to collect the car and resell it to get $$.

I know of this from personal experience .. when I went back to college the student counsel decided to buy a car and then raffle it off for fund raising purposes but it came back to bite them pretty hard because they didn't do the research properly ... the winner requested the cash value and they ended up having to sell the car themselves for whatever they could get and then kick in more $$ to cover the prize amount.  That's also why when big companies do these kinds of promotions they list the value of the prize somewhere in the literature (it might be in the small print but it will be there).

Joanne, I can't find any mention of it on the website.  What am I missing?

Hilary here is the exact address. Not sure whether clicking on this address from this post will take you to the site or if you have to put in the address and google it yourself. Good luck!

Just tried clicking on the address from this post and it didn't work so you will have to put it in yourself and google it. My computer skills are a little lacking. I know that there is a way of posting a link on this forum but not sure how to do it.

The link didn't work for me but I found it by going here http://www.homehardware.ca/en/index.htm and clicking the Community and Charity Contest tab/button to the right of the Earn Double Aeroplan Miles tab/button and to the left of the HomeCard tab/button.
