Many of you may remember when, a little over 2 years ago, we made the horribly hard decision to rehome our cat Yvie.  She found a wonderful home with my folks neighbour Lorainne, where she was truly happy for the first time in her life.  Yvie was a cat who was determined to be outside, so Lorainne trained her to respond to the call for "nummies" so that she could be allowed out for an hour, to return for her treats.  She was very happy, although she was pushing the limits to spend more and more time outside.  Two weeks ago, Yvie didn't come home.  There have been coyotes in the ravine here recently so everyone fears the worst.  Lorainne and my parents kept the news from Nick and I so that Nick's graduation celebrations wouldn't be spoiled.

Yvie was a smart, beautiful, determine cat.  She loved the sound of breaking china, could jump higher than any cat I know, and took more joy out of a properly delivered back scratch than anyone.  We may have let her go to a new home, but we never let her go from our hearts.  We've always missed her, and now we will mourn her.

Please light a candle for our missing girl.  She was one in a million, and hopefully now she is finally, truly, happy.  Run free baby.  We love you.

I cannot believe it.  After being missing for 3 weeks, Yvie made it home yesterday!  Lorainne heard her outside and found her making her way up the walk to the house, crying her head off.  She was very thin and dirty, but didn't appear dehydrated.  She is very happy to be home and seems to be recovering well, snuggling and sleeping, and eating a lot!  She also has NO desire to go outside anymore - Thank the Lord.  Lorainne believes that she got trapped somewhere but had access to some kind of water.

That cat's got more than nine lives, when I think of the odds of her making it home after 3 weeks I am astounded to see her, a little the worse for wear, but otherwise without a scratch!

Thank you everyone for your wishes and prayers for her.  I really think that it helped Yvie find her way back to us.

HALLELUJAH!!  Glad that Yvie has ended her adventure and has maybe decided not to go "walkabout" any more.
