Poor guy was distressed last night with his breathing. His cough had gotten really wet and he was having trouble breathing. Currently getting chest x rays. He has quite a fever and a lot of congestion in his lungs.

Will post more as I find out.

He's breathing better. The x rays show possible aspiration on one side of his lungs. He's had an antibiotic shot and just waiting for a prescription.

Difficulty breathing is so scary for the one it's happening to and anyone with them! Sending Cooper, you, Carolyn and Bugsy lots of good thoughts Mark.

We're back at home.  The vet suspects he does have an aspiration in his left lung but it doesn't appear too bad and he discharged us with some meds and instructions for his care.  Headed out to pick up a couple of things at the pharmacy ... Carolyn is sick too so I'm stocking up on things for both of them!

He'll be on antibiotics for the next 7 days (Clavaseptin) and was prescribed some Trachael Elixir (for cough suppressant and is a slight sedative).  Picking up a vaporizer, some saline and a thermometer shortly.

Coop is much more settled now and is totally my shadow.  It was pretty scary earlier when I took him to the emerg, he just wasn't himself at all.  Now he's still clearly not feeling well but behaving much more like Cooper!

Mark, I can imagine how scary this was for you. Glad Cooper is acting like himself again. Thinking of you all...and hoping he pulls through all this fast.

So sorry to hear this, Mark.  Poor Coop.  Poor you and Carolyn.  Give that big boy a hug from me and let us know how it goes.

That's the only risk with KC--the secondary infections.

Aw, Mark that sucks!  Poor Coop.  I'm glad he's home and resting well.  I know how scary breathing difficulties can be with these guys.  We're thinking of you!

Glad he is home - poor guy and you and Carolyn too. So scary. I hope he is fully back to the old Cooper quickly.
