I posted this under Daisy's thread in the "rescues and surrenders" section, but thought I'd post it here as well.

She developed a corneal ulcer which has turned into a melting ulcer.  She is off to the ophthalmologist soonest where we'll either get her grafted or remove the eye depending on what's going on with it.  This is not good news for this hard luck girl who's already had a rough go of it.

Good thoughts out for Daisy if you please.

Just heard from Daisy's foster mom--Daisy is getting a graft.  But poor Christina had to drive to Mississauga Oakville ER as the opthalmologist in Guelph wasn't there.

Dr. Zigler thinks that most of her vision is still intact.  So prayers out to Daisy and a huge thank you to Christina for going all the way to Mississauga and having to spend the day in the Square One Mall while Daisy was getting her work up done.

She's had her graft surgery, Dr. Zigler is pleased and she will likely retain most of her sight.  She's in ICU at Miss-Oakville overnight and if all goes well, she'll get to come home tomorrow.

And a costly little surgery it was......

Best of luck healing. If she needs any advice, we've been through it with Salvador and foster Mack. It is a long haul. The check-ups will be a pain, if she has to drive to Miss-Oakville each time.

So sorry to hear ....but Daisy is one lucky girl to have the eye saving surgery.

And a costly little surgery it was......

Yikes, it IS costly......  is it still in the $2000 to $3000 range?
