I first met Munchkin at the first indoor Pugalug, March 23, 2003. Lloyd and Rome were obviously very proud pug parents. Lloyd enjoyed being surrounded by pugs as he gave out treats.
As Munchkin's health deteriorated in later years, I saw less of her. But they did come out to the Running of the Pugs last year. Munchkin, white muzzled and tongue hanging, greeted me as an old friend.
Below is a picture of Lloyd, Rome and Munchkin from that 2003 pugalug

Here is what Rome sent me last week

She had a very rough night on Saturday, didn't sleep at all due to the ongoing breathing difficulties she's had since about September 2010.  She was also bleeding out of her nose and wincing in pain a lot.  We gave her increased antibiotics and steroids hoping it would help ease her pain but nothing changed so Lloyd and I made the hard decision to end her suffering.

The vet was pretty certain it was either a polyp or a nasal tumour that was the cause of the restricted airways but he wasn't 100% sure.  He offered to do a necropsy on Munchy free of charge to provide us with closure and for his own education.

Coincidentally, we had entered her into the scruffy dog photo contest about a month ago and the contest ended on Sunday and guess who won? Munchkin.

Sorry to hear of Munchin's passing and hope some comfort can be found through all these messages of sympathy being left here, although they will never bring Munchin back, but hopefully help get through the sorrow.
