Hello everyone Smiley It's Jenn - Rex's Mum! Haven't been on here in a long time (so busy!!).
I check out the site from time to time, and enjoy seeing completed adoptions and new photos/etc.
Anyway, I wanted to let everyone know that my oldest son Keegan, has chosen to accept donations for Pugalug in leue of gifts for his 9th birthday party this Saturday :-)
For the past couple years, we've held a skating party and invited his hockey team, schoolmates, etc. so the turnout can be quite good. He doesn't need all those people to bring him gifts - the idea was never for that but just about getting back on the ice after hockey season has already finished for them. It's a nice time of year before we truly head into warm weather when everyone can "lace up" one more time.
Keegan is very much "his Mother's son" and has a true love for all creatures - but of course his love for Pugs is pretty big! He was blown away at the Pugalug in Bowmanville (Pugtoria maybe?).
So, when I asked him what Charity he wanted to support - his answer was immediately Pugalug!
I have printed out some information to hopefully better educate the kids and adults alike (they typically hang around and/or skate too).
So, I'll let you know what Keegan raises after Saturday! His actual birthday is Wed/April 27th - I can't believe my "baby" is turning 9!!
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter!
Sincerely,
Jenn and Keegan Polley

We've seen a couple of young folks donate their birthdays to the rescue and it always impresses me.

And yes, it was Pugtoria in Bowmanville.

No problem Larry - Keegan is all for it! I have a photo cake being made with Keegan and Rex on it so I will post a photo after the party Smiley It should be cute! The cake will read "Thanks for supporting Pugalug" so hopefully that will entice some more donations. Fingers crossed we can pull together something for you anyway.

Drumroll please........
Today, Keegan's 13 friends raised $260.23! He will be writing the cheque himself and sending it off to Pugalug Smiley
There are now some "more aware" parents (and kids!) out there to spread the word about rescue in general, and also specifically that there is a Pug rescue in the area!
Thanks for your kind words everyone!
Sincerely,
The Polley family

Awesome!  Another big thank-you to Keegan and all his friends (and families).  He's been added to the Pug Pals page.
