This is for a human, but she could use some well wishes. Last Saturday, mom was admitted to the hospital. She had a broken femur and was in severe pain and her leg was all bent and swollen as big as it could get.
She had surgery, with a steel nail put down her leg, with screws at either end. It will take a long time to recover. She is 83 and has very brittle bones. I have been trying to organize her convalescent care and visit as much as possible, while working and doing all the things life throws my way.
I am concerned that she may not recover from such a serious break. Please think of her and her husband of 30 years. He is 86 and just a mess without his sweetheart. I spend a lot of time, trying to reassure him.

So sorry to hear about your mom's injury.  The pugs and I wish her a speedy recovery.  I remember when my grandmother broke her hip and that was just super chaos on my poor grandmother's part and also on the family.

Sending some good pug vibes!

Candace, my best wishes for a successful recovery are sent out to your Mom and her dear husband.

I'm an only and had to care for my 86 year old Mom last Fall/Winter after a bad fall due to a irregular heartbeat resulting in the need of a Pacemaker implant. The constant care/rehabilatation she needed after the surgery was a little more accessible for her since she lives with me. I totally understand your concerns and my advice to you would be, accept any trusted help offered, don't burn yourself out, you need to remain healthy yourself. Hugs.

Hang in there Candace. My parents have been married 63yrs this past January, they live with us in our
in-law suite. My Dad had surgery a couple of weeks ago, and as kids we do start to take on the "parent" role.
Take care of yourself, and if help is offered, take it. Not sure what area you live in, but if you need help just
ask we're here to lend a hand.

Wishing your mom a fully and speedy recovery.
I know from first hand experience how stressful it can be when aging parents are not well.
Be sure to take care of yourself too.
