[Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum, but not new to pugs. I have now had 4 pugs (all fawn, alls boys)
Winston 1997-2010 (died last May of old age, Cushings)
Oscar 2008-2009 (died at 13 months due to overwhelming bladder infection)
Bosley 2009- current, just turned 2
and
KIRBY- our rescue that was on this page last year. I adopted him last March 28 from SWON pug rescue. He was found wandering near London, near skin and bone and very ill. He was nursed back to health, and then we adopted him. When he came to us he was 17 pounds, had terrible separation anxiety and was a horrific marker. My entire house looked like a CSI nightmare by this past Christmas when I shone a black light to make sure I eliminated all the urine.
I waited so long to post as there was a period of time I almost thought I could not deal with him, and that perhaps he needed a home where he could actually go with their owner wherever they went. I felt like the world's worst human for even thinking about giving him up and worsening his issues.
The good news is we have turned a huge corner. Kirby is getting quite used to our comings and goings and doesn't freak out when we leave or come home. He goes to his crate willingly (although we have realized that we have to crate the boys together to keep him happy). Just a big pug pile in there, and everything is fine. He now hardly ever marks, no more than any regular pug who is avoiding the cold and rain anyway! It seemed to be tied in to his anxiety and now that it is improving, the marking has ceased to a minimum.
Kirby is 23 pounds of pure muscle. There were suspected wheat allergies, but in fact seems to be fine. His diet is corn and wheat free, but his treats have wheat and it doesn't seem to affect his tummy at all.
In the attached pics Kirby is on the left and Bosley is on the left.....handsome boys.

Hi there,
and welcome to the forum

I remember Kirby coming into SWON rescue and he was a sweety!
He had such a sad time of it and I am soooooo glad that you persevered with
his "anxieties"
It does take time and patience to help a little guy with anxieties.
Kirby and Bosley look so sweet together and it seems as if they know
they were meant to be together!
Happy first Gotcha day Kirby, from the London Gang

You have many many more happy ones to co me!!
