No - I had to get my local Global Pet foods to order it special for me. It seems hard to find. Most of the Globals can special order it, but do not seem to stock it.

So - day two on the Carnivora, when I picked up the boxes from my local Global, I check them out. Each box contains 8 patties, which will feed Sami for 8 days a box.
I used to think that her diet was expensive - well - it just got more expensive!

It will cost $180 a month to feed her now, compared to the $130 with the other diet. I think this is better for her, so I spare no expense when it comes to her diet. I just hope I see results, it would be a really really nice change. I am going to add some seagreens in 2 weeks, after I see how she fairs out with just the whole carcass.

Huh.  I guess I feed my crowd pretty meagerly.  I divide the pattie into thirds or quarters so that most of them get 2 or 2.5 ozs a meal.  Hazel gets a bit more, but I tend to give the boys less and her more since she burns calories.

Although even with those portions I go through almost two patties a day.

The other one you might think about, amanda, is Spring Meadow.  They don't have rabbit, but they do have some other unique proteins that Sami might tolerate including Alpaca.  Here's the list of proteins:

Alpaca | Beef | Bison | Chicken | Chicken Necks | Elk | Lamb | Venison | Veggie Mix

I think it's whole carcass--and I think it was Dag that told me about it, but you could ask her.  And the store in burlington that Anna mentioned sells it--I've blanked on the name.

Thanks Blanche, I will be looking at some other protiens after this rabbit is gone, in 2 weeks.

Well Sami is about 23 lbs, so one patty a day and 8 in a pack is 40 bucks. So 160 bucks a month. Just for Sami! Odie is about 70 a month.

I divide Sami's patty in half for breakfast and half for dinner.

Just googled Alpaca - never heard of it - but that is definitely worth trying!

Well, Tank is 23 lbs, too and he only gets 1/3 of a patty per meal.  Mind you, he's a senior and not exactly Mr. Energy.  While portions vary from dog to dog, I base it as much on the individual dog as on the 2% formula.

Sami isn't very active either, and lately she seems quite depressed, not sure if she isn't feeling well, or if it is the foster in the house (another female). But I am betting that is just feeling like crap.
She is sleeping more than usual, and just lying around more. We'll find out today whats up when I take her to Derrydale. I know for sure she will need an antibiotic.

I probably could get away with feeding her a 1/3 - that would make a big difference on the pocket book.

Hi Amanda, I think the depression and lethargy are symptoms of the thyroid issue.  I'd try cutting her back to 1/3 of a patty if I was you.  I really hope you get some answers from the next vet visit.  Is it today?

Thanks Jane,

Her appointment is today at 4:40. In one way - I am hoping she has it, - just because it would explain a lot for the years of suffering and frustration on her part and mine.

Starting to get really worried about Sami - Steven said she has been sleeping all day and she never peed today AT ALL!  I am hoping its just the wet weather - but she is evening sleeping and laying around in the evenings...Keep my Sami in your thoughts today please. I will keep you all posted after her Vet appt. today.
