Figured I'd post this as a separate post.  This is how I've finally configured the food bowls for the dogs.  I had to make my own elevated feeding station since I couldn't find one that worked for my guys or the ones I had came as a two bowl station and I didn't need that.  I got all the bowls at PetsMart, but Global also sells both kinds (I think)

The metal bowl is a cat bowl, apparently, but works well for the snout challenged pug.  I then bought high ceramic bowls that the metal ones fit into.  this way I can remove the metal bowls and wash everything out after meals.  The first pic is Tank's and Theo's bowls. Theo has a smaller bowl as it just works better for him for some reason.  the second picture is Tank's metal bowl on it's own so you can get an idea of how flat and wide it is.

No so much smart as cheap as hell.  And it's impossible to find a single elevated feeding bowl that is shallow enough or low enough for a pug.  Maddening.

I agree totally.  I've had a very hard time finding a bowl that Rocky would eat out of.  In desperation I ended up using one of my cereal bowls.  I'm going to check out Pet Smart for that flat, wide bowl.  That is awesome!

Look in the cat section--that's where I found these and I was tipped off on these by another pug owner.

Wish I could remember the name of the cat food bowls--but you can miss them--and they have rubber around the bottom so even if you don't elevate, they tend not to slide around which is always another issue with Tank.

Don't spread it around that they were cheap.  Somebody will market them as 'chargers' for pets and jack up the price!

Well at least innovative!

I have some stainless president choice mixing bowls that have
A wider rim which will eventually have a wood raised stand when
It warms up and I can use the garrage to make them Wink

that will be fine for Bubs and Abi. but not the senior of seniors Wink
He is more comfortable with me beside him and holding his dish.
Pugs eats better and more goes in him than on the floor where
"snatchers" are all to eager to dive in!

I think the ones with the low sides are Durapet dishes.

I started Ollie out with one of these as a baby because the sides on my regular bowls were too high for him.  Now Ollie eats out of the Durapet large square bowl because my regular bowls aren't big enough for his massive head  Cheesy

I found putting one of the regular bowls upside down and another right side up works well to elevate and the rubberized bottom keeps them from sliding.

Thanks for the tip Blanche. I'm going to make a trip out after the storm blows over and get my Lola a setup like that.

As in "elevated" do you mean that you let the dogs eat off of your stove and counter!!  Boy, they sure have it good.
