He's out of surgery and did fine.  Ear was really full of nasty stuff (which is discouraging since I had cleaned it out yesterday).  She's sending it off to culture so we can try to get the right meds targeted.  She did wonder if his ear drum was ruptured, but he doesn't have any symptoms of that (head tilt, staggering).  She told me what it was that made her question that but I can't remember what it was.  The two warts are off and are just that--warts.  She did test for ringworm in case that was a factor and he was negative.  So I can pick him up at 5 and she said (big bonus) that he was LOVELY to handle.  No snarking or trying to bite.

Great News for Theo!  Glad he did well with the surgery.

Blanche, she probably had a good look and while cleaning she probably could see part or all of his ear drum with the otoscope. ?could that have been it

I'll ask her when I pick him up.  I tend to go on autopilot after I hear that they are waking up and okay.

I"m wondering if the ear drum issue is related to the loss of his eye.  The infected ear is on the same side as the missing eye.  The eye was out of the socket when he was brought into rescue so I wonder if there is a trauma to that side of the head that could have also damaged the ear drum.  He's never shown any signs of a ruptured ear drum.

Yay!!  I'm so glad the little man is doing ok, I was thinking of him today.
Could the question of the ear drum be because of scarring from constant infections and scratching?  (just brainstorming, I really have no idea)

I am so happy to hear Theo made out good.  Bonus he was a good boy.  Sending positive healing thoughts for his ear.

Excellent news! I am very glad to hear he came through well and that he was lovely too. He always seems lovely to me when I see him though. I hope the culture yields some specific results and he can get on the right medication. Maude had one and the new drops she got did seem to help her bad ear but it did come back.

He's home.  Other than some shaved spots and being so stoned his tongue is hanging out, he's doing fine.  Ate, drank, pooped and then crashed in a dog bed.

He is lovely, Laura--he's just not always lovely to the vets when they mess with his face.  I can do pretty much anything with him, but my vets can't always get him to cooperate with manhandling his face.

I don't blame him - it must be very scary for him with out sight and hearing to be manhandled at the vets. Glad he is home and re-couperating well this evening.

I'm happy to hear all went well today. Hope the culture pinpoints the culprit.
And good boy Theo, I think your Mom is proud of your behavior too.
