Has anyone heard of the Thundershirt? It's supposed to be an anti anxiety aide for dogs. We are looking into anxiety help for Ada and I saw this brochure at the Pet Valu.

first time I've ever seen this.
Looks like a regular dog coat but tighter fitting.
Not sure if that would help or not?!?!?
e interesting to see the comments on this

I have not used one but I have been considering it for one of my girls. In the fall the West Highland Terrier rescue was selling them as a fund raiser. Apparently they feel they work very well.
Along similar lines...I took Tippy my high anxiety girl to Lucinda Glenny a couple of years ago and she has a technique where you apply light pressure to the nape of the neck while gently patting the dogs upper chest. The pressure gives them comfort and the light tapping is a distraction. It works quite well for us.

There is a fair bit of evidence that light pressure around the torso DOES help with anxiety. the Tellington Touch people swear by them.

It's certainly a technique that is used for people, so why not dogs.
I have worked with a couple of kids that really responded well to light pressure.
