Amen to that is right! Can Mr. Millan not be charged with something? Not quite sure how people can't see through the drama combined with greed and see it for what it is. Stop giving him money to carry on and we'll see how long he continues!
Now with regard to the comment Blanche about dogs not being geniuses, we all know that there is an exception to every rule, or perhaps many exceptions. And that's our Winnie.
Major genius! Princess Winnie knows what I'm thinking, what I'm saying and what I'm going to do before I do. She's way too smart to do tricks or fetch anything. She reads minds, has amazing vocabulary comprehension skills and engineers an entire household to cater to her Pug whims. Now on the other hand, you may be thinking that the staff in her household are probably not candidates for Mensa and I'd venture to say you're correct. But we are constantly amazed how this little bundle of fawn and black has engineered her environment to suit her just fine. Sasha on the other hand is Winnie's fly in the ointment. Sasha is totally onto Winnie and doesn't find her genius quite as awe inspiring as we do.
Any others out there with genius Pugs?
Well, all o f my dogs have been pretty sharp, to be honest with you. I've had the odd dim bulb, but most have been quite bright. My pom, Lola, was mad scientist bright.
As to his training techniques--the dominance theory of training has been around forever and has a much longer track record than positive training has. People don't want to let it go. And his show is appealing in that it makes training look "hands on" (literally) and easy. Bing, bang, boom--pin, hiss, pop and your dog is trained. That's also a concern. Watching training on TV is an unrealistic display. Anyone who's had a dog for longer than 20 minutes knows that training is an ongoing factor of life with dogs.
My poor border collies were all trained with dominance methodology. It was what virtually all training was back in the 70s and 80s. I cringe when I think of what I put them through......
