Miss Maisie has been with us for almost a month now.  she is affectionately known as MaiMai by me and Maisie MooMoo by my son.

She is adjusting slowly to living life as a dog.  she has spent her previous years living pretty much as a pampered princess and while I wouldn't say the conditions here are rotten, the level of service is lower and the expectation of decent behaviour is higher.  But she is adapting and she is learning.  She has finally consented to rest in a dog bed from time to time and no longer jumps out in horror if another dog gets in with her.  She still doesn't appear to have any interest in or get companionship from other dogs, but that may come in time.

She's developing some independence and isn't quite as much of a Cling-On as when she first arrived.  While I recognize that they are a needy breed, I also try to discourage the "I'll die if you're out of my sight" behaviour.

Her health (knock on wood) seems to have stabilized, but we've yet to have a whole two weeks without a crisis, so I'm hoping I haven't just jinxed us both.

Miss Maisy MooMoo sounds liike she's had quite the adjustment to living the life of a Commoner Pug...  Your Avatar seems very appropriate...Wink

No kidding!  Her other nickname wasn't/isn't quite so kind as MaiMai or Maisie MooMoo.

After reading Maisie's post and this one, it sounds to me that Harvey and Maisie must have read the same behaviour manual.  After 2 years, Harve is still "adjusting" to life as a dog.  Mind you, Harvey has a couple of enablers (the dads) that allow the princely behaviour and high service demands to continue......time to get back to cleaning Harve's bowl with a toothbrush....

Maisie will bring her delicates to the board meeting and you can wash them for her.  No starch.
