Yikes......I've been volunteering at a camp in Haliburton and got the dreaded call last night from the vet where Pugsley and Dave are staying.  Huh?

Apparently, Dave was bitten in the neck by another dog during a fight and needed stitches.  He wasn't happy to be held (can't believe why) and needed to have iv sedation to be sutured.  He also needed antibiotics.  I haven't heard the details of what happened, but Dave is certainly not a dog to start a fight.....

I will be picking them up tomorrow and hope to hear an update soon.

Please send your thoughts to Dave.

Oh man.  Poor Davie.  That kind of thing can happen so fast if you aren't really vigilant==and can happen even when you ARE vigilant.

And I'm not sure I'd sit still for suturing either.

Let us know how he is.  Poor Dave.

So the puggies are home and are snoozing on the couch.....

Dave is his usual self minus some fur that was shaved from his neck and some stitches that we need to get taken out in 10 days.  From what I understand Dave wasn't to blame in the fight (I knew he couldn't possibly have instigated it) and it is apparently a very rare occurrence that they have a dog get bitten during a group play time.  I have no doubt that the staff supervising were vigilant and it can happen in a second even with experienced staff.  BTW, we weren't charged for any of the bill related to the bite.

Ah well, I know a bite can happen but it always is a shock and I must admit I was a little shaken.....but, I know he'll be fine. Thanks for all your wishes  Smiley

Amanda, I'm relieved to hear your Dave is doing OK and hope his injury will heal well.
And I'm sure you're glad to be back home with him, as I'm sure he is too.
