Ada had her yearly check-up today, and while Isaac was melting down in one of my ears, the other was getting some bad news.  Ada needs surgery, two in fact.  She has a lump on her side so it is being removed on Tuesday, at which time they will finally get xrays of her legs to try and figure out the mysterious limp.  Then we are off to the eye specialist.  Ada has PK and Dr. Fox was amazed and alarmed at how fast it appeared and progressed.  4 months ago her eyes were fine and now they have massive spots covering about half of each iris. cry  It explains some of her weird behaviour - she can't see!  At the rate this has shown up and developed at we have to move quick before she's blind.  Our poor baby is in for a bad summer.   cry cry cry

Any spare healing vibes you can send her way are appreciated.

Thank God for pet insurance.

Glad to hear you have Pet Insurance - It was a life saver for us in the early years with Sami. Although we have been cut off due to too many claims...anywhoo...

I am very sorry to hear this news. Sending you our best vibes for your sweet Ada. This has to be very hard on all of you. I can sympathize with you Anna.

I can't tell you how awful we feel.  Could we have caught the lump or the PK earlier?  We just don't know.  Sad Sad Sad

Anna, don't beat yourself up, it won't change anything and I'm willing to bet that you couldn't have done anything differently.  I'm sending you and Ada lots of positive and healing thoughts  Kiss

I often have that "Could I have done this better?" feeling and the answer is no.

Remember this:  you are not a vet, and you don't play one on television, either.  So you are not likely pick up symptoms that may be subtle at best.  Also, your animals have no way of telling you: "Hey, you know what? I'm seeing less than usual.  And my leg feels funny."

If your even one tenth as bad as I am your anuimals are living in the lap of luxury, and there isn't anything more you could do if you had an electrified animal care robot.

You can't beat yourself up over it.

And now I will get off my soapbox. Grin

Lots of good vibes form O-town.  You'll be in my thoughts.

Anna, don't beat yourself up about it, these things can come up so fast and as much as you watch over your wee ones things like this can be easily missed. You guys are WONDERFUL pet owners and any animal would be lucky to live with you.

Anna, you are great pet parents. I know how you feel. I feel the same about Sammers sometimes too - the "could of would of" but here we are...you will get her better. She is in great hands.
