Geeg is a bossy bitch and doesn't do well with females- hence why we decided on Jemmers. He's fine with women telling him what to do and provides the play-partner we were looking for with Geeg. If your female is a take-charge kinda girl, a male may be the better way to go. One way or another, you'll need someone who can match energy level and get along with being bossed around. Is there such a thing as a pug-girl who isn't bossy?

I am starting to look for another pug to adopt. My 2 year old fawn, Piper, is what you all are calling a 'bossy bitch' :p , and she's hyper at times too. She loves to play with toys, humans, other dogs, unsuspecting cats, etc. So I'm keeping my eye out for a pug that would be compatible. I did put an app in for Kimba but seems I was too late. I don't really have a preference for girls/boys, although I've only ever had female dogs. The 'detour left, detour right' post had me LOL. Actually Kimba would likely have been a bad fit as she's a bit full of herself and needed a home with a pretty laid back dog. And two pushy girls.....trouble with a capital T. I'd shoot for a boy or a very laid back girl. It's VERY rare for a male and female pairing to fail, but it's a crap shoot with female to female......

Having spent alot of time living with pushy bitches and being a bit of one myself, I can appreciate a nice boy. It's why I love Tank so much. Not an ounce of "pushy" in him. He has boundaries and rules, but he's not pushy. Both my girls are pushy and we can lock horns over stuff.....

Dave will tell you that Pugsley isn't that bossy .....she likes to play fight but doesn't boss him around. Stubborn at times.....yes, but Dave would have to admit she is a pretty good sister.

Is there such a thing as a pug-girl who isn't bossy? Maude is only bossy with me and the cat - all others she lets get away with anything.

Melissa, you've met my gang. I love Wednesday, she's not your typical black female evil bitch. She can and does hold her own with the boys though. Any foster quickly learns she's the Momma pug and don't mess with her when she's eating or doesn't want to play. She's isn't nasty, she'll just charge and head butt. They quickly get the message. The only foster that even remotely gave my guys a hard time was Bea and that was only with Hank. Once she was feeling better she took a dislike to him for some reason. Don't know why she picked him, he's one of the easiest going of the bunch besides Ringo.

My daughter's 4 year old female pug Jersey has been living with us off and on all her life, and she is the least bossy dog ever. She and Piper get along fine (and it's the fact that she is moving away permanently that has me wanting to look for another). The only ones left for Piper to play with boss around will be the cats.
