We are really struggling with Pippin's eyes right now.  He's had a couple of eye ulcers on different eyes and his tear production is terrible and getting worse.  He's on lots of drops lots of times a day in the hopes that we might be able to get some resolution, but I'm very worried about him and his eyes.

So some good eye thoughts and prayers for my little foster.  We are likely headed to the vet ophthalmologist next week.

For right now, we are doing drops every two hours around the clock (alternating collyrium and Tobrex) in the right eye as well as Optimmune twice a day in the  left eye with zero tear production, lubricating gel every two hours in that same eye.  If I can save his sight through dogged effort and determination, I will.

My fear is that he has genetic KCS and possibly a genetic predisposition to eye ulcers.  The lack of tear production in one eye and the fact that tear production continues to decrease in the other eye limits our options somewhat.

However, he remains a pretty cheerful guy.  He's a bit subdued today as I think he isn't feeling great and he's quite tired of me fussing with his eyes.

Oh Pippin - poor guy. I feel for you too Blanche - it has to be tough. Sad

Just when I think I have it hard with Sami -I see another going through far worse, and its terrible at such a young age. Things aren't so bad over here after all.

I am praying things will get better for Pippin.

Oh Blanche,  I know that if anyone can save his eyes you will.  I started having dreams about giving Pugsley eye drops when we were doing the every 2 hour routine.   Huh? Sending all the best healing thoughts to you that the eyes improve over the weekend.
