Just catching up on this. I'm glad the surgery went well. Dr. Klys is very good at what he does and an extremely kind man. It was the right decision, from the start. She is way too old to deal with long term cone and all those rechecks, etc. It was certainly a good choice, considering the pus situation. I hope she is getting over the meds and feeling better today.
Well, not sure she's feeling BETTER, but she's certainly CRABBY!

Blanche, SO sorry to hear this, we have been away and I can't believe all that has happened in a week Hope you and Lola are ok. Dr Klys seems to work at the VEC most weekends and seems to be available all the time. Of all things for Lola to get and she's not even a pug. Sheesh. Here's a pick me up.....what I left late yesterday

Well, when I got to the clinic first thing Friday morning there were two or three poms there--all with eye issues. He said poms and JRTs are prone to eye issues. Who knew. So I guess I should count myself lucky that all the years spent running through the brush in the ravine didn't result in eye issues. Why at 14 when she is not nearly as prey driven her eye decides to go Kaflooey........

I was just taking a minute to catch-up with the forum; sorry to hear about Lola's eye! I'm afraid it IS a bit of a Pom thing. I'm sure Lola will be back in fighting form (!) in no time.

Well, it's facinating to me that in the 11 years I've had her when she was bushwhacking in the ravine, taking tracking classes and doing all manner of "rugged dog on the hunt" stuff--no eye issues. Now that she's a senior and living a sedate life, her eye goes KABLAM.

HI Blanche,
I'm just getting caught up on this and sooo sorry to hear about herself. Hopefully Lola will be back to her saucy self in no time. As for the grey hairs, no such thing all mine are either platinum or silver. Now doesn't that sound better !! Take Care and I hope you don't get too worn out.
