My kitty cat is fading. She had a stroke yesterday and her condition now is similar to Alzheimers. She wanders around the house, but doesn't know what to do. She won't eat or drink, and only wants to lie down and sleep.
She is going back to the vet tomorrow and I'm scared she is going to have to leave us. She's 18 years old. She was my confidant for many, many years. She listened when no one else did.
I can't lose her.
Ashlee

I'm so sorry for what you are going through Ashlee. Obviously you've given Smokey the very best care and in return she's given you 18 wonderful years of companionship. Smokey has given you so much now you have to be strong and do what's best for her.

I'm so sorry, Ashlee. My 17 year old cat, Puppy is the same- no stroke but getting very old and sometimes confused and frail. I've had him my whole adult life and we've been through everythng together. My heart goes out to you- i know exactly how you feel. Pls remember that your Smokey loves you and needs you to do what's best for her now. Good luck...

Ashlee, I'm sorry to hear about your Smokey. My Lola has been with me for only 4 years and has seen me through many ups and downs, so I can get a small sense of what you're feeling now. I'm sending my best wishes to you and your Smoky.

I am very sorry to hear about Smokey. Last year I lost my cat that I had for 19 years. I still miss her but her time had come and as hard as it was I didn't want her to suffer anymore.

Smokey is a very pretty kitty. So nice that you got to love each other for so long. But that doesn't make it any easier. I am very sorry.

I'm sorry Ashlee. It's never easy no matter how much you know they can't last forever.
Let us know what happens and know that you and Smokey are in our thoughts.

It's very hard to lose a long time pet. Just know that if she is suffering, your final act of love can be to help her go to the Rainbow Bridge. I've lost a few cats over many years. My current kitty is 17. You are in our thoughts.

Our thoughts are with you and your kitty Ashlee. It's so difficult when our precious furry family members are ailing. She is a very pretty kitty in the photos too.

I wanted to update you on my baby girl. She is actually doing much better! Who would have thunk it? I said my goodbyes already, but i guess I will have to hold off. She is eating again, drinking, going outside, jumping up on the couch and generally being herself again. She is still on another week of anti-inflammatory pills, so we'll keep our fingers crossed.
This up and down roller coaster of emotions is draining.
Ashlee, Hugo and Smokey
