This has been an incredibly useful series of posts for me, as Hogarth had low USG earlier this fall.  It was detected when they ran his yearly wellness tests.  I had noticed that the first pee of the day seemed unusually dilute (the things you look at, when you have a dog - I always check his poo as well).  He is on a renal supplement now and, although I don't know whether this has played an active role or not, I have been taking him out for more pee breaks whether he wants to go or not (the state of "not" being a frequent one, but I make him go anyway).  They checked his USG at his last visit and the numbers are back to normal, so something must be working!

Beau is my little hairy Buddha.

And he remains utterly symptom free.  Repeat blood tests in the spring, I think!

Thanks for the "Short Guide to Renal Function in the Dog":  It was very informative!
