We let Pete go to the bridge on January 11, 2008. He was our first pug and a shining example of all that is good about pugs. He was blind (had every eye issue known to pugs except for dry eye), but it never slowed him down. He became a therapy dog and was my son's devoted companion. I miss that little guy every day.

My thoughts are with you Blanche as you memorialize your special Pete. Boy, your Tucker sure is a popular friend to many of the Pugs in your home. The photo of Tucker and Pete in the Rainbow Bridge section, says it all. http://www.pugalug.com/pete.html

He does have a way with certain animals. Pete pretty much declared himself Tucker's dog from the minute he walked into our house. As did Tank.
When Tucker used to ride, he would always ride the craziest assed horses--they scared the hell out of me, but under Tucker they settled down and enjoyed the work. He has a very calm and confident way that anxious horses respond to. I'm wired too tightly to do well with an anxious horse.
In the dog department, I do well with the loonies and the behaviourally disordered. Which is why Hazel and Lola made themselves my dogs, I guess.

My thoughts are with you Blanche. The first time I met you and Candace was at the 'Pug Park'; I remember little Pete making his way over for some treats and a good scratch as though he was the self-proclaimed ambassador of the park. He was a very sweet, gentle lovable man with a face that could melt even the coldest of hearts. It's easy to see why he is missed so dearly.

We had Pete for five years. He got malignant melanoma in his jaw and there just wasn't any fixing it--it's always terminal. You can't really tell from his picture but he was teeny weenie and so sweet. We called him Sweet Pete He visited the Palliative Care Unit at Providence Centre. He was one fo the first blind therapy dogs in Toronto

That's the downside to having lots of furbabies, more loss. I know how special he was to you. ((Hugs))
