After reading about the quilt that so many talented Pugaluggers are creating, I felt there must be something I can do to help with fundraising too.  Although I machine and hand sew, I've never given quilting a try, and would hate to spoil the beauty of your creation with my efforts!

However, I knit.  Compulsively.  I have a minimum of 2 projects on the go at all times.  I have a pattern for a very simple baby blanket knitted on the diaganol using garter stitch.  It truly is mind numbing work, but just the thing to ease stress at the end of a long day.  As it is a 'go anywhere' project, I have knitted one for each of my pugs and they use them in their crates.  They are nice and snuggly and they love them.

I'd be happy to knit a few and donate them to rescue to be sold or added to a raffle - whatever way they could help bring in money!  If any one else is interested, I would be happy to pass the pattern on.  As I mentioned; it truly is a pattern for beginners.  I have knitted so many I don't even need to read the pattern anymore!

pug mummy:  can I interest you in a top down fit as you go dog sweater on four needles (or circular)pattern?

I just drafted the pattern for our fundraiser, and it worked out pretty good.

But I'd love a copy of your blanket pattern.  I'd love something for teh couch that can just get tossed in the wash once it smells of pug butt.

I would definitely be interested in a blanket or two. We have a big chewer in our house so the current blankets in the bed and crate are starting to look a little sad!

I would like to try that pattern - it has been a while since I knit on 4 needles but I would be willing to give it a go.

What a great idea for a fundraiser and one that I'm sure will be appreciated Cheesy

The garter stitch sounds wonderful.
I don't knit but my Mom does Smiley
I tried when I was growing up to learn it; but being a south paw and Mom being a
righty Sad   well unfortunately it was a frustrating endeavour and so I gave up!

But I give kudos to those who love to knit Smiley

I like to knit, too. It is something I do on my lunch hour. At home, it's a bit tricky, as there are four dogs on my lap!

OK!  I'll straighten out my shorthand, and send it off.  Just a heads up, you'll need to swatch!

Vicki, What a generous offer.  I will accept a couple of blankets on behalf of the rescue to use for raffles or whatever (I leave that up to the raffle folks).  Wish I could knit. I've tried to learn a zillion times and never can get the hang of it.  I can crochet, but knitting baffles me.

Oh how I always wished I could knit, being left handed, I tried everything even looking at a mirror while someone is knitting, I had so many dropped stitches, when my girls were young I was even thinking of buying a knitting machine....so I'll just stick to sewing Wink

A dog sweater sounds like a great thing especially in this cold weather. A doggie blanket sounds good too.  Grin

I'd love the pattern for the dog sweater if you don't mind sharing... I love knitting in the round - round needles or 4s.

I have been knitting hats this year, no blankets as yet.

I've known a few left handed knitters who could adapt but most had to knit right-handed...
