Here's a thought...... if we had enough quilters that could each make a 12 x 12 square we could put together a quilt for the next auction?Huh?  Anybody in <img src="/forums/Smileys/phpbb3/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smiley" title="Smile" />

It's the spirit that counts!!!  If we get enough people we can decide on theme etc.  As for the final quilting....I'm getting a new machine and hope to be able to do the final quilting .  If not, I know someone with a Longarm that could finish it off for us.  As long as we get enough blocks we'll be good to go.  Well, thats 2 blocks and counting!!!!

I can do a block, but can't do the quilting--I hand quilt and already have the teenager mad at me for not finishing his yet (Promised I'll finish it this summer and I will!!).

That's great Blanche, I can take care of the quilting.  I admire your patience hand quilting, I'm a machiner and currently teaching Archie proper manners in mom's sewing room.  It involves a lot of bones!  Teddy & Phoebe are pro's by now.  My quilting/spare bedroom has the most delicious corner of a bed to chew on and what could be more fun than ripping out the lining underneath the mattress.  Looks great now that I've duct taped it up.  Ohhhh puppies Smiley :)

Deb, Deb, Deb.  My friend, you finally got caught with all that pug porn, huh?  I knew it was gonna happen......

As to the quilting dealio--I'm easy.  Might be worth posting it in Off Topic?  Or asking Mark or Larry to put it on the actual website--inviting interested quilters to participate?

If all members contributed one square, perhaps bring them to a Pugalug or mail them in even?  Then someone has the massive job of piecing them all together and sewing up the rest?  Still looking for an old Singer, so I'd have to hand sew something.

I certainly can't speak for anyone else but I know I love the idea and I would love to be involved.  Unfortunately, I can't sew...absolutely no talent, no skill, no knowledge

That was a good laugh out loud Blanche, can always count on you for that.  You wouldn't or maybe you would believe what a procedure it was to get all that crap off my computer.

I like the idea of asking Mark and Larry to post it on the site.  Will do.  So how is that quilt coming along??

I have 2 full tops finished and am just waiting for my new machine to get them all quilted and finished.  It seems I'm a little bit crazed and can't stop now.  :0  Oh great pugs and quilts what a perfect combo!!!

That would be one big quilt!!  For this project I'm hoping for 12, 12"  blocks.  Who knows, it might get bigger and that would be fantastic!!  I don't mind doing the putting together part either.

Oh grasshopper I was once a non-sewer years ago and then took a class at night school.  Nobody in my family sews or crafts anything.  My first machine was a used Elna, it was about 20 years old when I got it but those things never died.  Weighed a ton too, made out of steel.  Anyway, it got me through about 25 more years of sewing until it had finally decided to retire forever.  Now I have a nice everyday Janome.  You don't have to spend $$$$ to get a nice machine anymore.  I only started quilting this year ( after classes ) and am crazed with it.  I'll post some pics when I finish the whole quilts.  So that's my story, I'm a huge believer in take a class!!  It's always worked for me, I'm a hands on learner.

It doesn't have to be perfect, just hand-made, even if it's by hand. If you've ever mended anything before, give it a try and see what you end up with?  With this economy, learning to sew or even mend is not a bad skill to pick up.
