Second thoughts about ORIJEN

I've been feeding Orijen for a little over a year now. I do like it and the pugs do too. Here's the issue. I'm still working on finding the right balance for NikNak when it comes to his enzymes that I add to his food and his insulin. Knowing exactly how many grams of protein, fat, starch would make it easier for the enzyme dosing. With Nikko being diabetic and having pancreatic insufficiency, I wanted more information about the glycemic index and specific make up of Orijen. It says on their website that they won an award from the Glycemic Institute so I figured they should be able to provide me with some information. I've sent 2 emails, in the last month, asking different questions and have not once gotten a reply (except for the automated email received). I also called once and left a message. Even if they didn't have any specific information for me, at least a reply saying something would be nice. Since I have to stick with a kibble, grain free of course, I think I might try Wellness Core. I just can't justify supporting Orijen (Champion Pet Foods) if they can't even answer an email... Thoughts??

That is really bad customer service and I don't blame you for thinking of switching foods, but most important is feeding what is best for NikNak and Nikko.
Maybe call the maker of Wellness Core and a few other grain free companies and see if they can get you the info you want/need.
Petcurean that makes NOW has excellent customer service.

LOL.. I realized from your post that I made a boo... Nikko and NikNak are one in the same... I have so many nicknames for the pugs and I'm constantly interchanging them.
I spoke with the manager of the store that I get my dog food from today while I was in getting a small bag. She sent off an email to the representative that takes care of Ontario. I received a reply from that woman asking me to let her know if I haven't gotten a reply from customer service today or tomorrow. The store manager was surprised and the rep seems to be taking the matter seriously. Neither seems to want to lose my business which is good.
I guess I'll have to wait and see what I hear back.

That's disheartening, for sure, Melissa, but I'd glad that the store manager and the rep were more responsive.
How's the boy doing, anyway?

He's doing well... I'm going to do another curve tomorrow to see if the changes I made are making progress. As I type he's licking me... he's always licking me!
