Update Faith still in CCU

Poor Faith is back on the morphine. The wee one is in such pain and all scrunched up. Cutting through chest muscles and the heart surgery has placed such trauma on the tiny one. She is on reg. pain meds and the morphine has been increased. As a precaution she is also on an antibiotic. She still refuses to eat. They are syrine feeding her baby food. Her O2 is still good and the surgical site although quite swollen is clean. She is all bandaged up in blue with a bright pink bandage on her leg for her IV. She will at some point today be moved to the regular wing and off the cardiac equipment and IV....

poor baby, I sure hope the pain eases up for her. Is she managing to keep the food down? Sounds like Faith is getting wonderful care and extra TLC.

The Vets and their assistants check on her regularly and one of the assistants was seated on the floor this evening coaxing her to eat. She took a few bites and then began eating from his hand. She is keeping the food down...it was HIS lunch...lol....The folks at Altavista Animal Hospital in Ottawa are the best. They go above and beyond care. Best part they call you with updates regularly. They said if she continues eating through the night and into the morning she can come home tomorrow....I will be so afraid to touch her for fear of hurting her...Oh mercy this wee one is going to be soooooooooooo spoiled...not that she isn't already...

His lunch, hmm, that is a good sign, Faith you are a smart baby! I so hope she is ready to go home. I'm sure she'll heal quicker at home in her momma's arms!!
