Just thought to ask again, since the program is still currently running and Pugalug is now a charity. The grant ranges from $1,000 - $10,000 and is open to Canada!  Also email them, they're very good at replying.

Hi Deb,

Thanks for posting this link and the information. I'm currently looking into this and the application process. I hope to have everything to them with the next month. Hopefully we can get a grant. Now if only Build-A-Bear would come out with a Build-a-Pug!!!

I've emailed them a few times now, since they were able to make a boxer, I figured a pug should be easy and the money can be donated to pug rescue in the US and Canada. Make a fun weekend out of it, maybe one day they will... Hope you qualify for the $10,000, I think your expenses have gotta be there and atleast the money goes directly to the dogs, something very admirable about Pugalug.  You guys deserve it!

Build a Bear has another program currently running for kids and teens that awards a cash prize to them and to their special Canadian charity.

I am in the process of submitting our application for the Build-a-Bear Grant but ran into some technical issues with their website - am waiting to hear back from them and then it will be submitted.

The Huggable Heros program has ended for 2011 - note that kids have to apply for it - so for 2012 if anyone has any teenages/pre teens you can get them to apply on Pugalug's behalf.

Not that I'm aware of, Deb.

The application has been sent. It can take months to receive an answer. Once I do, I will let everyone know.
