Came across this website and thought it may be helpful to someone in some way. The Canadian Centre for Pet Loss Bereavement has a website.  :(

It's about time this type of support was available for people. For too long many had to grieve in secrecy, because it was "only a pet."  Never understood this ideology and always wondered why support wasn't more readily available?

OVC Pet Loss Support Hotline:

http://www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/petloss/
The OVC Pet Loss Support Hotline is a phone support service that provides a non-judgmental forum in which to express feelings and concerns surrounding the loss of a pet. The line is answered by students at the University of Guelph (including undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary medicine students) who are trained to listen and support our callers through their stages of grief due to any issues related to the loss of a beloved pet.
PLEASE NOTE:
** Phone line volunteers are not licensed veterinarians or counselors and as such cannot give any medical advices nor provide crisis intervention.
Hours of Operation: Tues to Thurs 6:00pm - 9:00pm EST
