A friend last night said "I have wrinkles and zits ... isn't there some kind of law against that?"

There should be, wrinkles and zits should be mutually exclusive!

Tell Bugsy I feel for him.  I got a big old honking one on my cheek.  Never had them as a teen, but hit menopause and WHAMMO--Zit City.

Not fair, is it Angela.

I was reading one of those samplers and it was saying that they weren't hot flashes that they were personal tropical vacations..... not a vacation exactly but often will keep me from being able to do anything when its a humdinger.... I have on occassion thought that the freezers in grocery stores have looked good - think anyone would notice if I crawled in?

Personal Tropical Vacation if you're visiting Hell.  I'm very hot tolerant and was actually looking forward to the hot flashes since I'm chronically cold.  But I wasn't expecting to feel like I was being incinerated alive.

The worst was last summer--I was riding a draft horse cross who gets hot quickly and sweats like mad--hot summer day and I got a hot flash.  Between wearing breeches, half chaps, and a helmet, being on a very hot and sweaty horse and having a hot flash, I thought I was going to just faint right off the horse.

I can’t say I have hit menopause yet but approaching 40 is making me cry!! Anyway I remember when my mom went through menopause the rest of the family froze. She would open the window in the middle of winter complaining we kept turning the heat up in the house. We almost had icicles in the house.  Now that she is finished menopause she is the first one to complain of a draft in the house. Can’t win. One minute too hot next too cold. On the zit subject I had the odd zit as a teenager now almost 40 I get huge ones!

I am in the same boat.  Approaching 42 in a couple of months.  I have to say I am terrified of Menopause.  My mom wasn't so bad but I can remember the emotional roller coaster she was on.  I don't recall her having bad hot flashes though.  I work with 4 women who are going through it at the same time, All I can say is I wish I worked with all men
