Three years ago today we said good-bye to our first Pug, Otis.  He was a wonderful, little (he was the runt of his litter, and never made it past 18 pounds) guy, and he taught us what Pugs were like....adorable as puppies, funny, loving, and oh so precious!!  He had the biggest heart....loved everyone!!!  He also had the strongest heart up until the very end, but his dear little body just gave out around it.  Out vet told us he had the strongest heart she had ever seen in a senior Pug.

I swore after we said good-bye to Otis that I would never have another Pug....it would just be too hard!!  Well as all of you know, we now have not one Pug, but two, and our Tilly is even distantly related to Otis.  Otis taught us well how great it is to have a Pug in the family!!!

We miss you, Otis, and we always will!!!

Nancy-Jean I can relate to your Otis being the runt of his litter... so was my Lola and you know how tiny she is...14 1/2 lbs!

Like they say, once you've been Pugged.....

Your Otis will be in my thoughts today.

The funny thing is, Tilly was the runt of her litter too...just 3 oz. at birth.  Jeanne and Kristina weren't sure if she'd make it, but they didn't know what a determined little thing Tilly is.  She's now around 16 pounds, and as healthy as can be!!!!

I guess we just have a thing for the little ones.  Otis was rather small for a male, but he was total Pug.  Stubborn to a fault, but so cute it was hard to get (or stay) mad at him.  He HATED to come when called, and would do what we called the "Otie Dance"....he would come to within about two feet of the person calling, and then dance around in circles, and look up as if to say "Na na na...you can't catch me".  Very annoying...but really too cute for words!!!!  I can honestly say with Otis are family got "Pugged", and we still are!!!!!

Nancy-Jean my thoughts are with Otis and your family today. Give Tilly and Lucy  extra hugs and cuddles and remember how wonderful Otis was. It is amazing how these little fur monsters get into your heart.  Carol

Runts are often VERY interesting little dogs.  It takes alot of gumption to survive when you're the runt.  Otis sounds like he was one special guy.

Leila was a runt--and we all know what a hellhound she is.
