Mocha had a pretty major cluster seizure. It lasted 5 or 6 minutes and was quite violent. Then he seemed okay briefly, but went back into another seizure that was as bad as the first. Luckily I had diazepam and my daughter ran and got it. We were able to give him a rectal dose and he soon started to come around.
We took him down to the VEC and they will be monitoring him overnight and tomorrow. He will receive more diazepam in a drip. If he doesn't have another seizure, they will reduce the dose, slowly.
His neurologist should be in touch with me in the morning.
Please keep my Mocha man in your thoughts.

I heard from the VEC. He didn't have another seizure during the night, which is a good thing.
The seizure was such a bad one, from what we have seen in the past. He hasn't had a seizure since November. That was just a very minor one.
I should hear from Dr. Cochrane sometime today and find out what comes next.

Hi Candace,

You must be drained, poor Mocha has suffered through this before.  I hope all goes well for the sweet boy and you get some helpful answers.  We'll say a prayer for all of you.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, Candace.  I am glad he has stabilized and I wish him a steady recovery back.  Mocha is in good hands as Dr. Cochrane is an excellent vet.  He is very well known at the OVC.

Pugsley, LadyBug, Minky & Albert all give Mocha big hugs and kisses.
