Welcome Kellar and Sanford!! I'm thrilled it is going well. I pretty much ONLY adopt seniors (although I foster a high number of puppies). I think seniors are the best.
As to the car thing--time and patience.

Welcome - when you have time please pst some photos of Sanford. That is great news that everyone is happy and adjusting well. I hope you do get to make it to Pug Paddy and that Sanford overcomes his car issues. Does he not like it or does he get sick?

Welcome to the Forum, Sandford and Family! My Lola isn't crazy about the car, I think she may feel slightly motion sick, although she's never thrown up. She wears a harness and seat belt but she seems to do better when she's raised up so she can see out. I use either her donut bed with a pillow in it or a child's booster seat with a pillow in it. I try to keep the car more on the cool side during all seasons. Also one of us tries to physically be close to her, patting or touching her, that really helps a lot. Good luck with it and hope to see you at Pug Paddy Day.

Welcome Kellar. My suggestion for the car is to try short car rides that don't end up at vet. I frequently pile my crew into the van when I'm going to the drive thru for coffee or fast food. It's a short drive with lots of interesting smells into the middle and it ends back at home. My guys really love it and are put out now if they don't get to go

Hi and welcome to the community! As for car rides, we had issues too, try a walk directly before or slowing the whole process down to make it calmer before getting into the car, even if it takes some time.

Hi everyone,
My name is SnugglePug, and I am a pugaholic.
I am the type to receive multiple forwarded funny pug images in my inbox with the subject line reading "Thought of you." If, god forbid, I find a pug themed wallet/hoodie/backpack/magic bullet, I simply have to own it. I look for reasons in everyday conversation to mention my dogs, and in the off-chance that some sucker feigns interest, I'm always ready with my phone to share hundreds of bulgy-eyed, curly-tailed candids.
As an employee at a wonderful GTA veterinary hospital, I feel fortunate to squeeze pugs on a regular basis. I've been accused of preferential treatment (in jest, of course.) My husband and I are currently on the hunt for our third dog (yes, third! We are crazy folk!) and that's what brings me to Pugalug! We have two spayed females; Bean is a four year old Pug, and Punky Brewster is our year-old Frenchie. I'm excited to have an outlet to share with other pug lovers, because quite frankly, everyone else thinks I'm crazy.
Mr & Mrs Snugglepug, Bean & Punky

LOL! Well ditto..... you have definitely joined up with the right "crazy pug" crowd for sure! Welcome!! You just described pretty much every pug owner out there and on here! I try very hard to keep my pug stories at a minimum at work because I'm sure most have heard enough about my boys and the young offender However, it is just to tempting, as you say, when someone asks about them. Do you also stop vehicle, mid run, to get out and say hello to any pug and pug pals walking along the sidewalks??? I'm forever coming to a hault or rolling down my window to say hello and chat with anyone in London who are out walking just one crazy pug person to another
