Veterinary medicine is constantly changing, as is the case in human medicine. More and different options are available and trying to distinguish between them can be confusing. We hope the following information will provide a better understanding of the philosophies, techniques, and treatments associated with some of these less "conventional," but increasingly more common areas of veterinary medicine.

At many vet schools, they are definitely holding more and more workshops on alternative means of therapy.  While some therapy is not yet scientifcally proven yet, there are others that have shown that they are extremely beneficial in many dogs.  While I was at a student conference at the Faculté de Médécin Veterinaire in Montréal, we were given a little intro course on accupuncture.  Sounds very interesting and something I'd definitely want to learn.  Thanks for the link! :D

Regarding the last post, a list of holistic vets...I don't know how most of them got on the list at Creature Comfort as I have been there many times, and the staff are amazingly knowledgeable and caring.

I called several of them for my dog Sami, and only one listed was an actual Holistic/Homeopathic Vet.
I did however find one in Guelph. I took Sami there, and I wasn't impressed. It seemed I knew more than she did!
