pounds to kilograms

I do both metric and imperial
woodworking I try to stay imperial, sewing unfortunately is in both, as I do european patterns as well as our North American brands, baking and cooking depends on the recipe however when I'm at the grocery store I'm totally confused by the metric weights and fluids measures ( and I was tops in my mathmatic skills all through school, go figure!  although I am starting to pick up on celsius // kills me when the weather network says look out folks we are in for a lot of snow 10cm 4"    me I would be really scared if they said 100cm :roll: Lori

I'm old school to0 and when I can change the setting on anything like the computer to Farenheiht I do it.  At the moment I'm up in lovely Ottawa (brrr)  visiting my daughter and have been driving around Quebec looking for Costco ( did you know they see beer and wine ! ) with my daughter when she so sweetly suggested I change my GPS settings to miles and feet because whenever it reads ____metres ahead I start to panic like I've missed my turn.  Not realizing of course its ab out 3x longer than I expect

By the way, love the conversion site on the computer and use it all the time.
