Our pug will eat just about anything but in particulare she loves dried liver.
I haven't met a dog yet that did not like the dried liver but if you're looking for a good treat for your pug, we give ours benny bully dried liver treats. it's easy to pack into a kong also. a little bit goes a long way.

Is there any concerns with respect to the smoked bully sticks.
We only give them supervised and cut off any long stringy or otherwise bits and throw the whole thing away when it gets down to about 3-4 inches long.
Our darling Max is becoming quite fixated on these after his dinner. He has learned where we keep the current one on the counter and will stand on his tippytoes to try and get it (but even on his toes doesn't come near getting it)
Once retreived will chew it for hours, drooling and slobbering with an occassional dash to the water bowl to quench his thirst. We literally have to wipe his face down afterwards.
I usually then refer to him as my little bacon bit cuz he smells like a smoked sausage .
I generally take it off him a few hours before bedtime cuz I want him to settle down before nighttime.

As long as he's supervised with them, I wouldn't worry. There is many an obsessed pug out there around bully sticks. It is quite the smell afterwards though. I've gotten used to smoked bone and bully stick breath.

Bully sticks (Moo) are almost the best chewy you can give to your pug (supervized). I buy some for my pugs once in a while and they come completely crazy becoming wild as wolves......and getting very protective towards their stick. It's fun to watch and I always make sure I cut the gooey part when it becomes white to avoid any intestinal problems.....I heard some people saying their pug has gone totally crazy around bully sticks to the point they avoid giving their pug a stick anymore. Bully sticks are excellent for gum and teeth but would suggest giving them uner supervision only.

Joey also loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves bully sticks. He only gets them as a treat, as I feel it is like giving a kid MacDonald's...but that is just me. Joey doesn't get a lot of treats in out house, infact he gets dental food AS treats rather than the fatty, store bought treats. He does he the store bought ones once in a while, but again, as a real TREAT!!

I agree that all bones should be supervised, but bully sticks especially....they get stringly really easily and I know from expereince, that Joey will swallow stands like unchewed spaghetti that must reach from his mouth all the way to his tummy! SUPERVISION IS A MUST!

Blossom loves Merrick's Texas Tooth Picks and Puppy Chews, she like to hide them.
