I think all the dampness and very unseasonable temperatures are causing the house Diva issues this year. It is known she is arthritic and has degenerative issues of the lower spine and the cervical region as well. I have noticed this past month that she is much weaker in the right hind leg. No pain just less strong. I have noticed when I do her exercises the leg is not as easily controlled by her. Koshi-Lin is compensating by turning at the hip and putting more weight on the left hind leg. She wobbles like a "Drunken sailor on shore leave" as Blanche puts it at the best of times. Now the wobble is slower and more "wobbly". She is still going for walks but can't do the 3 blocks she could in the spring. Now we bring the Pug Waggin', let her do what she can and when she lets us know she had enough, we let her ride and waive to her loyal fans. It is difficult seeing my precious Diva struggling more often. She is aging and doG knows how long she has had spinal issues. I adore the ladypug and will wait on her majesty to the best of my mere human ability. Horns and all in typical black pug fashion she is the light of my life.

Sorry to hear that Koshi-Lin is having a rough time this summer Hopefully the dampness will dry up and she won't be as bothered by it anymore!

Hope Koshi-lin is better soon How old is Koshi-lin and not knowing what medications she is on, maybe Lakota would help her pain management as well, with the arthritis. Lori and the boys

My poor little Koshi. This has been a bad summer for us arthritics. My arthritis has been bad this summer and the Death Pom appears to finally have some in her knees. Give her a kiss for me and tell her that Penny and Gigi are "arfers" as well. We really wonder if they've been de-barked.

Koshi-Lin is around 9 yrs. She has had a few flare-ups and been on steroids for brief periods. I have used Lakota for the clumber sisters. Yes Blanche our vet thinks Koshi was debarked and has a natural narrowing of her airway as well...her arfing is music to my ears..most days...

I wish people would stop debarking dogs! If they don't want to hear barking, then they shouldn't get a dog, period! Sorry to hear and is there anything at all holistic that may help besides what you have tried? I know of a dog who was debarked by previous owners too and she sounds like she has laryngitis when she barks, but she still gives it her best shot.

If I run out and he misses one or 2 days of the Lakota Tx; I really see the decline again. Maybe Koshi-lin might like being on it. I hate giving steroids, as I'm sure everyone does, even my Vet has said that at 15.5 yrs if Pugs isn't showing any signs of pain then to continue the Lakota and wait to put him on the Metacam for pain relief. (I did ask at one point years ago whether Pugs should be on it for mild pain relief but was advised otherwise). Just a thought Blanche: I have never had symptoms of arthritis, but this year I can honestly say my hands have flared up  age again

Lakota is great stuff. I have degenerative disc disease, arthritis in both knees..7 knee surgeries, use aleve when the pain prevents me from doing daily stuff, yet Dr. says at 51 I am too young for knee replacements...Koshi-Lin and I have good and bad days...we snuggle, wobble, limp, and generally get around as best we can...I guess that is why she is my heart dog...she has such a will and determination, nothing stops her..I believe if you say you can't do something, they you are right..Koshi-Lin and I might be a bit different but we make our way in the world..we are unstopable..most days..she is the less mobile one in the family and she rules with an iron paw...

Koshi-lin you are an inspiration to us all !!!!! I, myself suffer from arthritis in most of my body, and from a very severe barametric pressure allergy (headaches whenever the temperature changes or it is rainy, or humid.....pretty much ALL the time!!!). This summer has been brutal on my bones, and my head!! To hear about a dear little dog who just keeps going no matter what is truly inspiring. Koshi-lin, you are my kind of Diva!!!!!! I hope you feel better very, very soon! Let's hope for less rain in the Fall !!!!!!!!

Hopefully the rain is gone now and Koshi-Lin can go for walks. It's great she has the Pug Waggin for her majesty to wave to her fans. If only every puggie could be as loved as Koshi-Lin.

Hi Koshi, It's your buddy Phoebe ( and fellow arfer - not debarked! ) here. The weather has been quite ruff ( sp on purpose ) for us achey types and hope for a nice dry fall. We had to resort to a tramadol one day for excessive pain and after that all was well. Has your ma tried a heating pad - I love it and makes me feel great!! Phoebe p.s. I have started 'Farking' now too. thanks for showing me that trick
