Marvin is a one year old pug in Minden who desperately needs eye surgery/removal this week!!!   We are trying to get him driven from his owner in Minden to the vet that Under My Wing Pug Rescue's foster mum uses in Smiths Falls.  The owner is unable to drive.  We have no transporters in the Minden/Bancroft area and wonder if you know of anyone responsible who can help.  We need someone to drive either of these options tomorrow or Thursday.

Option 1 (Wednesday): Minden to Bowmanville, Port Hope or Peterborough

Option 2 (either day): Minden to Madoc

If you can help even part-way or know of someone who can, please PM me as soon as possible.  This little guy needs help immediately.

Transport has now been arranged and Marvin will be operated on tomorrow afternoon.  Thanks to all who volunteered.  Some of you were extremely generous in offering to drive a LONG way.  Fortunately, we found drivers through other rescue groups (HART and Boxer Rescue) and were able to limit each person's travel to 2 hours each way.  Still a long haul but not as bad as it could have been.  Getting drivers on short notice during the week especially in the area we needed was tough and I really appreciated your offers.  You are drawing good karma to yourselves!

Just to let you all know that Marvin has made it to the vet's and is awaiting his eye operation.  His eye is in very, very bad shape and since he has tried to scratch it so badly, the skin has come off his face leaving 2 flaps of skin hanging on both sides.  It is hard to judge his temperament as he's in such pain.

The good news is that he will now start the upturn, thanks to three wonderful women from HART Rescue, Jack Russell Rescue and Under My Wing Rescue who did yeoman's job in getting him to the vet at the earliest possible time.  Please send positive thoughts Marvin's way for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

He is being fostered by Under My Wing pug rescue as we had no room at Pugalug so if you want to see his picture and follow his progress, check out their website in a few days: http://www.undermywingpugrescue.com/

The surgery was successful and Marvin will not longer be in pain from the eye in a few days.  He also has some skin tags which will be removed when he's neutered but that will wait until he's feeling better.  Too much to load onto the wee guy today.  He'll be at the vet's until the weekend at least.

Apparently the surgery did not take place until yesterday morning and the neuter and skin tags were done at the same time.  The news I received this morning is, "He's doing absolutely fine, has a very good appetite and wags his tail when they take him out of his cage ..... and wants to play."  Way to go, Marvin!!!  They're resilient little boogers, aren't they?

I'm so glad that Marvin is on the mend! He will indeed be up and at'em in no time!!

Even Bubba, for all that he had done, sure bounced right back!!
Izzie sounds like she has bounced back too!

Snort, Snort Marvin keep up the good work, lil guy!

Hillary,

If you ever need transportation in the Bancroft area again let me know.  I am in Bancroft once a week for work.  Sorry I didn't see this earlier, was away for a couple days.

Glad Marvin is starting to feel better
