Sigrid let Mabel go this afternoon.  She was wrapped in a blanket that a lovely woman who had wanted to adopt her sent to her.  We both told her how much we loved her and stroked her as she slipped away.  She was starting to have trouble breathing as her bladder was so enlarged that it was pressing on her diaphragm--so if I had any second thoughts about letting her go, I don't now.  It was the right time and the right thing to do.

Sigrid is VERY heart broken.  We will have her cremated and her ashes returned to Sigrid.

Oh Sigrid,  my heart feels your pain!    We all know how much you loved her, and she you!  I remember at the Sportsmen show when I watched her while you took a look around and she fussed like crazy wondering where you were.  She did settle but she was looking for her mommy.  You will miss her terribly.  You both were so lucky to have each other.
Your in my thoughts, we're all thinking of you.

I wish there was more I could say, other than my heart goes out to you Sigrid.  You were lucky to have found one and other.  My thoughts are with you.

Mabel's first owners were kind enought to send me a bit of history on Mabel. I've added it to her page. I've included a link on the Rainbow Bridge to Mabel's webpage.

I paused for a while around 3:30 and sent my love and support to you and Mabel, Sigrid.  I will light a very large candle before I go to bed.
