We found an ugly, red, raised bump on the upper side of his front paw on Saturday.  Took him in thinking it was an infection but the vet said it seemed more like a mass.  Put him on antibiotics but nothing has changed so he is going in tomorrow morning to have it removed.  Good thoughts appreciated!

I feel your pain! We've just gone through another lump scare with Mackie that luckily has turned out well. Mackie is sending some of his good lump luck to Ringo and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for all the good thoughts.  He is home now, and he is doing well.  We should get results of the mass early next week.

And it's a benign histiocytoma!   Smiley  Ringo had a recheck this morning and got his bandage changed.  It's looking ok according to the vet (not so nice to me but what do I know?)  She had to do a sliding skin graft apparently so it's taking a while to heal.

Glad it was nothing.  Having dealt with MCT's WAY too much, it's nice to hear good news.

Ironically, I also have a pug Ringo who had a lump removed from his front paw about 5 years ago that turned out to be a histiocytoma.

Awww, well thank your Ringo for me for that, it must be in the name!  Wink  We made another run back to the vets this morning for a new bandage....the one put on yesterday was loose and floppy and just not comfortable.  Lots of those sad eyes and holding the paw up off the ground and just generally moping around.  Hopefully things will start healing now.  This one is red for Valentine's Day!
