I didn't have anything booked today so I set-up my lights again and took pictures of both of my pugs.  People seemed to enjoy the pictures of Parker so here are a couple from today.  There are more on Flickr if anyone is interested.  You can find them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/60210167@N03/

I'm still working on a website and need more photos for my solo portfolio so you might see a few more on here over the next few weeks.  If anyone has any questions about the set-up or how I did this feel free to PM me.

Thanks.  I'm almost ready to get my solo business going.  I've acquired all the gear I need (no more sharing, renting or borrowing).  I have most of my website built (I've been taking a few web design courses).  I just don't have enough work that I have sole rights to to fill out a decent online portfolio.  Right now I'm using most of my free time to take pictures of everyone I know and their kids and pets.  I might have a few family members disown me because they're tired of having their picture taken.   Grin

Thanks.  Gertie's pretty good right now.  She still has some sort of allergy (she's scratching in a few of the pictures that didn't make it online).  We really don't want to put her on a steroid and so far it doesn't seem serious enough.  She has pretty bad luxating patella in one knee that has slowed her down a bit, but as you can see she's still pretty playful (especially with that damn chick, it's her favourite toy).

I looked at some of your other pictures on flicker - they are beautiful.  (1) I really like the one of Gertie with the snow on her face; and (2) where are those waterfalls?  They look like they are a place worthwhile visiting.

Thanks.  Hopefully once I go out on my own potential customers like what I can do.  If I remember right, there are three waterfalls in my photostream.  The most recent on is Albion falls in Hamilton.  I was working there for a day and since I don't know Hamilton well I left super early and killed some time at the waterfall.  I'm pretty sure the others are Hilton Falls near Milton and Bellfountain near Orangeville.

I also looked at some of the pictures on flicker. I like the one of Parker looking at Gertie against the yellow bricks. I also like the ones in Sweden of the pile of Lemurs(?).

Lots of nice shots.

Thanks.  It's good to hear that people like what I can do.  The lemurs were pretty neat.  We were at a zoo in Stockholm and they were wandering loose all over the place.  Everything on Flickr is just stuff I have done more or less for fun.  I don't have any paid work that I have sole rights and proper releases for.

Are you currently shooting for someone else? Do you freelance or are you not allowed right now?

I've done a few different photography-related things in the past.  I have another job (teaching college) so this has always been part-time.  I've been making plans to start my own solo business for awhile and am pretty much ready to get things going.  I have to finish my website and make the hosting arrangements.  I should have it up in a month or two.  It will also start out part time but who knows what will happen if it works out.
